Topic: Looking for the owners of old Writing.com stories

I just want to drop a note if anyone can contact the account holders of transformation related Writing.com stories that've been canned, those can be transferred to other accounts and I'm very interested in hosting them. At least long enough to let people pull the contents from them. There is a limited number you can host.

Offer includes Basic Membership for a story owner so they don't have to spend money to get the story up.

Even deleted items stay in a deleted section for some amount of time. I don't know how long. So if anyone wants to check around. There's a couple, like the Role-Rewriter and the original Role Swapper that would be great to save from oblivion.

I've been trying for years to do that. The W.c people claim they're deleted instantly someone goes inactive but that's bullshit.. what if someone reactivates their account later, their work is lost?

archive.org has some of it if you can find the original index pages, House of Doom has all the text on archive.org.

Also the new FictionBranches people are willing to host any salvaged W.C interactives on the new Fiction Branches 3 site too... but only dead stories to prevent copyright issues.

Yeah. It looks like the stories probably went inactive when the account's status expired. I'll include in my offer basic membership to any owner of a story willing to transfer it, so they can reactivate the story.

Yea. Most of the older ones I can get the usernames of the owners from archive.org (because a.c stored the frontpage of interactives even if it didn't story the IF themselves). BUT, people did not use the same usernames elsewhere.

Couldn't get it for "He was a boy, she was a ghoul", or "house of doom", "Magic Hands", "Imagine that!" none of it.

I don't think you'll find them here. Try posting in the two IF subreddits, /AIFCentral and /interactivefiction. You _may_ get lucky

I had been looking for "Role rewriter". May be it was not famous but It seen nobody had read it, as nobody replied to my post.

The worst was that, I had read a topic from member to writing.com's webmaster for deleted stories and stories from deleted member accounts, they replied that no matter why a story or any chapter was deleted, there were no backup for any deleted stories or chapters.

I was a member of the zetaboard old forum.
I do not know why I could not register at the no-ip forum before, only it was possible now.

Yea, unfortunately that doesn't appear to be archived anywhere. I know DatWeirdOne tried to reboot it on writing.com and fictionbranches but it didn't' have that much success.
