This is all kinds of great and at times funny. Slow transformations with plenty of detailed exposition on the matter are always a good read, and insectoid abdomens are always in fashion.

The campy sci-fi and the less than platonic relationship (or whatever you would call it) between the two protagonists are very tongue-in-cheek and are a perfect fit for one another. It reads a lot like a movie and in this case that's a good thing.

Does it being episode one imply there will be an episode two?
