I have someone asking about joining the forum who says new membership is down again. Is it down? Can we fix it?

This is news to me, and after checking the user list, it does appear that this problem popped up sometime on December 21.  The user list also shows one new registrant yesterday,  but from looking at the usual number of sign ups, this is highly irregular.

It appears to be working again. For what it's worth. Madmax011 posted big chunks of his great ongoing story on FA, and some people are interested in seeing whats on the forum from that. At least one person registered from there today.

Yeah, somehow the "Allow New Registrations" box in the admin was unchecked.  All I had to do was click and save the changes.

Yeah, i disabled it, since we had around 100 new spam-users in one day. This is highly unpleasant.
